How To Hit Your Scorecard Metrics Week-After-Week

Winning in business is about consistency.

It’s not just about that next revolutionary idea or out-of-this-world opportunity … it’s about steady, persistent daily actions.

And yes, we’re often just one idea or relationship away from an explosion in our business.

However, it’s the calculated actions we take each-and-every-day that put us in a position to receive that next new idea or relationship.

Generating results in business is a combination of consistent effort and measurable outcomes.

Effort is the focus, energy and actions we put towards the right goals.

Outcomes are a by-product of pointing our sails in the right direction and getting to work.

As leaders, our culture and confidence can erode when we focus solely on outcomes.

And on-the-other-hand, it’s a blue ribbon for everyone when we focus solely on effort.

The balance of the two is where the magic happens.

Creating a culture that encourages effort and protects confidence is the foundation for consistently delivering results.

With a strong foundation, clear vision and strategy, execution is where our ideas become reality.

Developing key metrics to track progress and success creates accountability, ownership and insights for us to stay on track or adjust as needed.

Putting our heads down and getting to work without tracking progress has the potential to take us massively off-course.

At Organize To Scale™, we work with all accountable team members to choose the metrics to track based on leading and trailing indicators of success for each core workflow process.

And then we create accountability and ownership, by asking our team which metrics they will own. This creates buy-in, which creates a sense of responsibility.

Then our job as leaders isn’t to micromanage their effort towards achieving the key metrics they’ve agreed to own …

Our job is to come alongside and say, what are your goals … how’s it going … and how can I help?

As leaders, we’re now in a support role to our team to empower them with all the tools, resources, and confidence to encourage their effort and outcomes.

So, the way to hit your scorecard metrics week-after-week is to …

… choose the right metrics with your team

… create accountability by asking your team to own specific metrics

… protecting your team’s confidence

… and empowering your team with the right tools and resources

Beyond these steps, developing daily and weekly habits as individuals, teams and businesses is another anchor for duplicatable success.

So, in our next newsletter, we’ll discuss how to develop strong habits as a team.

We hope this was helpful and we look forward to hearing your feedback.

Cheers!
